Flaming Corpse (炎の屍, Honō no Kabane?) is the 19th chapter of the Kemono Jihen manga series.
Summary[]
Nobimaru replicates himself to confuse Yui.
Yui faces Nobimaru in a battle. Meanwhile inside the ice castle, Inari tells Kabane that he might find out something about his parents if he tried to retrieve the nil calculus. Kabane hesitates to trust Inari since he can't also leave. Suddenly, someone speaks up saying Kabane it should go. It turns out to be Big Brother using his voice and transmitting Inugami's message based on his brainwaves and heart beat. He tells Kabane that Inari won't lay a hand to them and will be leaving Akira in his care since the it will be longer before the ice melts. Kabane leaves and rushes to save Akira.
Nobimaru begins to attack by showing Yui multiple Nobimarus to confuse him. Yui uses his power to create a glacier ice and manages to pierce Nobimaru's body. A fog then formed causing Akira to not know's what happening and eventually calling out to his brother. Distracted by Akira's calling, Nobimaru manages to get close to Yui and about to retrieve the nil calculus. However, upon touchin it, Nobimaru's hand cracks. He then thinks of other ways to retrieve it. Unable to stand because of the damage, Yui attacks Nobimaru again. Just then, Kabane interferes and saves Nobimaru.
Kabane attacks Yui.
Nobimaru asks him if he has some plan to which Kabane says no. Akira still calls out to them manages to get his head out of the cage. Out of nowhere, Kabane attacks Yui. Upon engaging with Kabane, Yui's ice melts since Kabane set his body on fire. Yui counterattacks him by also piercing his body. Yui then covers himself with ice. Meanwhile, Akira then realizes he can utilize the fog using his power since it is water. Kabane and Yui continues to engage in a battle. Nobimaru uses his power to set Kabane's body on fire once again. Kabane manages two blow two attacks to Yui, causing him be injured. Just as Kabane is about to land his final blow, Akira steps in and stops him.
Akira then notices his big brother's start to crumble and asks Nobimaru what is happening to him. Nobimaru tells him that Yui has been giving his life to the calculus but doesn't mean it has no side effect to him and if left alone, he'll crumble away and die. Carrying Kabanes skull on flames, he tells Yui that he cannot die since he is Akira's light and still hasn't know about the nil calculus. Akira then tries to remove the nil calculus on Yui's body, saying that they should share the same pain since they are twins.
A flashback is seen wherein a group of people is discussing on choosing the next snow village chief between Yui and Akira. A certain Hisame speaks up and tells that whoever reaches spermache will become chief in order to use their semen from youth as long as possible.
