Virtual Reality (仮想現実,, Kasō Genjitsu^?) is the 25th chapter of the Kemono Jihen manga series.

Summary

Shiki tries to think of a way to reach the game's first town.

During a break, Shiki is handed a liability of death contract as insurance in case Shiki dies in Mihai's game. Shiki, without hesitation, proceeds to sign the contract.

In the game, Shiki continues to fight and escape from monsters. After successfully escaping from them, Shiki arrives at an inn and takes a break. During his break, Shiki tries to think of a plan to make it to the first town of the game but is unable to do so.

Mihai shows up in the game.

In the middle of checking out his body, Mihai pops up in the game. Embarassed by having seen, Shiki tells Mihai to make a better game and calls his game a shitty game. Mihai just dismisses this and describes Shiki as a more boring player than he had imagined in which he is supposedly to say "plaything" instead. Mihai mocks Shiki telling him to not even think of wanting his help and disappears from the game.

Irritated by being described as boring plaything by Mihai, Shiki gets out of his room and eats a meal which is served and made by Mihai realtime.

Shiki meets another player at Mihai Quest.

Shiki gets back on his track when he sees another player fighting the dragon, however the latter gets killed by the dragon. After respawning, Shiki asks the other player if she is an event character. The other player reveals herself as a fan of Mihai and an illegal player as she accessed Mihai's PC. After hearing the player hacked the game, Shiki exits the game and informs Mihai.

However, Mihai just ignores Shiki's statement telling that the fan keeps comibg back on the game and he's just letting them be. After hearing Mihai, Shiki goes back to the game. The other player proposes for them to form a party in order to easily reach a town. Shiki agrees but still doesn't trust the player considering that they hack the game. The other player introduces herself as Tunamayo who turns out to be a guy playing as girl in the game.

Shiki and Mayo tired after the battles.

Shiki and Mayo soon fight together some enemies at the game. After dealing with enemies, Mayo and Shiki arrive at an inn and sleeps. The next and for the next consecutive days, Shiki and Mayo still aren't able to defeat some of the enemies. During their meal break, Mayo shares that it isn't the first time he hacked Mihai Quest and reveals that there wasn't a dragon before. During the two's sleepover at the inn, Shiki shares that he plays Mihai Quest in order to pay back someone.

During the next day, Shiki tries to deduce the reason Mihai made the changes in his game. Mayo responds that the reason must be for Shiki. With that information, Shiki then realizes that Mihai must be thinking that the game can't be cleared by anyone other him.

Mayo bids goodbye to Shiki.

Shiki and Mayo soon defeated the cherry slimes and are able to get past the dragon using Shiki's strategy and techniques. Soon after, the two successfully reach the first town. Shortly after, Mayo bids goodbye saying that the game is made for Shiki after all and logs out from the game.

As Shiki continues the game, Shiki enthusiastically describes the game as pretty interesting telling that it'd be nice if the next monster could hep him think of some new moves. Mihai responds that he might regret saying it.
