Awakening (覚醒,, Sen'nyū^?) is the sixth episode of Kemono Jihen anime series.

Synopsis

English

Kabane, Shiki and Akira embark on a dangerous mission set up by Mihai, breaking into a company controlled by a trio of kanonba (mosquito Kemono) sisters to investigate it. When discovered, they must fight it out, but something comes over Shiki.

Kabane, Shiki, and Akira are sent on a dangerous mission by Mihai's plan. The company that the three of them infiltrate to investigate is controlled by three kemono sisters called Kanonba. Kabane and his friends are exposed and are forced to fight, but then something happens to Shiki.

Summary

Kabane and Akira on the way to Shiki.

Shiki is seen having panic attacks when confronted by one of the kanonbas. Meanwhile, Kabane and Akira hurry over to Shiki's location while communicating with Mihai who tells that his hand slipped, losing control over the Mihai Magnum. However, Kabane and Akira is stopped by Momoka. Meanwhile, Shiki is frozen at spot, being unable to contain his fear, he begs for someone to help him. Just then, Kabane calls out to him through the transmitter dragging Momoka and tells him they are on their way to him.

Shiki faces Erika, he camouflages himself. Erika unable to specifically locate him begins to attackk each corner however she is restrained using Shiki's silk and manages to attack her. Just then, Kabane and Akira arrive at his location. Both of the sisters are restrained. The three begin to talk about their next course of action. Just then, the eldest sister, Reika arrive and apologizes to the three for their actions and threatens them to leave. However, Kabane repsonds and refuses to the deal saying he needs to stop them. Just then, Reika begin to suck the brains of her sisters and fully transforms herself into her mosquito form.

Nobimaru marks the body.

Kabane tries to attack the kanonba but is unable to move due to her strength. Shiki and Akira try to help Kabane but both thrown by Reika. Whihle fighting Reika, Kabane ponders about his thought of becoming stronger for the sake of his friends. Just then, Mihai gives him advice to use his kemono strength not his human strength in order to win. Kabane unleashes his kemono power and manages to overpower and defeat Reika.

After the fight, a kemono named Nobimaru arrives and introduces himself as someone working under Yoko Inari. Nobimaru approaches Reika and burns all the kanonbas. Kabane also asks him what will happen at the workers at the factory. Before leaving, Nobimaru tells him a secret that Inari still hasn't given up on stealing his lifestone. Kabane wonders and asks the reason he is revealing it to him to which Nobimaru tells him that he hates Inari. Nobimaru then leaves and bids goodbye to them.

Kabane comes back to Kon's place.

Back at the office, the members talks about the finished mission. The next day, news about the Bug Bite Electronics situation is reported. Kabane remembers his promise to Kon and rushes over to her. He then reveals that he went to a mission and forgot about her. Kon sulks hearing this since she even caught koi for both of them to eat, but they has gone rotten overnight. Nobimaru is seen spying on both of them. Back at the office, Shiki tells Inugami that he wants to learn something about his parents.

Manga and Anime Differences

• Erika is seen having bruise at her right eye in the manga. However, in the anime, both of her eyes seem fine. The scene where Kabane attacks Erika is ommitted in the anime.
• In the manga, Inugami tries to destroy the lock in the room in order to get out. This is ommitted in the anime.
• The part where Kon and Kabane go out to eat and spend time together is ommitted in the anime.
• Nobimaru is seen spying over Kabane in the office with the others, at night. In the anime, he is spying over Kabane when he returned back to Kon at the park during the day.
