Mao (マオ, Mao, Mao^?) is a nekomata that bewitches humans and turns them into cats, in order for them to bring her food.

Appearance

Mao is a white cat with a two tails and a mole under the left side of her mouth. In her human form, Mao turns into an attractive young woman with medium long hair, retaining the mole on the left side under her mouth. She has a brown short hair and wears a purple lace-paneled pencil dress. She also wears a black choker.

Personality

Mao is selfish and uses her powers to bewitch humans and turns them into cats so they bring her food. When she learned that a human loves her, she decided to live as his pet and let her take care of her, so that she has an easy going life.

Plot

Introduction Arc

Mao confessed to by Yoruno.

After work, Mao goes in a back alley to meet her followers and see what food they had brought her. Kabane, Yoruno and the others confront her there and explain that Yoruno is in love with her. Understanding the situation, Mao turns into a human and tells Yoruno that he didn't need to hire detectives as he will soon turn into a cat like some other customers and bring her food. She guess her bewitching wasn't strong enough as he didn't turn into a cat yet, but Kabane reveals its due to love. Kon appears from above and captures Mao, while Yoruno uses the opportunity to reveal his feelings and how his life changed after meeting her. He agrees to become a cat as long he is with her.

The next day, Yoruno still human and Mao visit the Kemono Office, and Mao explain that she ended the other customers spell and they will turn into humans again and that she is now living with Yoruno. She figured that it will be just easier for her to let a human take care of her as she doesn't need to worry about her safety or food.

Powers & Abilities

As a nekomata, she has the ability to transform into a beautiful human to seduce humans. The humans who fall under her enchantment gradually transform into cats, who do whatever she wants.
