Introduction Arc
Kabane Kusaka meets Kohachi Inugami and joins a detective agency and begins to help in cases regarding kemonos. He meets the other members, the half-arachne Shiki Tademaru, the snow kemono Akira, and the vampire Mihai.

Shiki Arc

Akira Arc
Akira encounters his long lost twin brother, Yui. After the reunion, Akira learns about Yui's past in their snow village after he left. On the other hand, Kabane learns about the Nullstone and tries to retrieve it but Inari and Nobimaru also wants to get it for their own benefit.

Shikoku Arc

Shimane-Amagafuchi Arc
Inugami decides to retrieve the Purity Calculus and goes to Fukuoka while Shiki and Kabane go to Shimane for the Stream Calculus. While trying to retrieve the Stream Calculus, Shiki and Kabane are stopped by the members of the Special Investigation Unit, under Inari.

Ogreham Factory Arc
Inugami, Kabane, Shiki, and Akira travel to Chiba Prefecture to investigate an Ogreham factory. Their mission is to prevent Inari from monopolizing the food source and to recover a possible Calculus that might be in the possession of the factory director.

Gourd Training Arc
After Kabane asks to be trained by Inugami, they, along with Shiki and Akira, travel to Gunma. There, they meet Iyohime's and Zenkichi's parents and begin rigorous training. During the process, Nobimaru appears and warns them of a possible invasion in Yashima. Inugami and the others immediately set out for Yashima to check the situation.
