Background

Tarouta was born in Yashima, Shikoku, and used to be the fourth chieftain of Shikoku Tanuki, but he quit.

Powers & Abilities

• Time Transfer (時渡 (ときわた) し,, Toki Wata Shi^?) - Of all the Shikoku Tanuki, Tarouta is the worst at transformations, but instead he has a special power called "time transfer". Tarouta has the power to fast forward somethings' time. However, the more he uses it, the more "his time rewinds". This power consumes Tarouta's growth, and if he passes the time beyond his age, he will lose his life.

Skills

• Culinary Skills - He is now the owner of an udon shop in Gunma Prefecture, working with Yoshie, Fukuhime, and Mitsukichi at a place called "Iyo-chan". His dream is to master all the flavors of udon and bring them back to Yashima.

• In the initial setting page of the book, it says that Tarouta's name is based on a common riddle about a tanuki, and that he chose a name with a lot of "ta" in it.
