Yataro (弥太郎,, Yatarō^?) is the cousin of Kabane Kusaka and the son of Mrs. Kusaka.

Appearance

Yataro has a light brown wavy hair. When going to school, he wears a simple white shirt with pink collar and gray short over black leggings. When doing his work at the bathhouse, he wears a white bathhouse uniform with tasuki.

Personality

As someone who yearns for Tokyo, and dreams of leaving the countryside where he currently lives to live in Tokyo in the future, Yataro's attitude towards people from Tokyo are welcoming. He also tends to impress other people. However, he also has an attitude of showing jealousy and hatred, this is shown when Kohachi Inugami chose Kabane Kusaka over him. Beneath, all his supposedly kind demenour, he is really nothing but a narcissistic spoiled brat that was given everything in his life and thinks he deserves the world. In addition, he's proven to be quite cowardly, as when Kabane stood up to him and gave him a well deserved punch, he began panicking and crying more so after seeing his cousin's true form.

Plot

Introduction Arc

Yataro and his classmates.

Yataro heard a person from Tokyo was visiting and told Kabane to not come see him, as he stinks. Yataro later went in the baths to see Inugami, the visitor from Tokyo and introduced himself as the innkeeper's son and that he will be helping him in his stay. While washing Inugami's back, Yataro started to speak about wanting to go to Tokyo, but Inugami instead asked him about Kabane, and Yataro told him about him. Later he overheard Inugami talking to his mother, thinking that Inugami will praise, but was shocked to hear that Inugami requested Kabane's help, instead of his.

Yataro tries to get the Lifestone from Kabane.

Some days later at night, Yataro was angry and started yelling at Kabane, as he was ruining his dream to go to Tokyo, that his parents threw him out and he was living with them only because they are cousins. As Kabane told him that his parents didn't threw him back, Yataro got angry for talking back to him and in anger took his life calculus and Kabane instantly punched him. Then as he looked at Kabane, he saw his half turning to a monster and went running and crying. As Yataro was running he recalled a past situation when he was five and when he accidentally killed Kabane by pushing him in a ditch, but Kabane didn't bleed and later returned completely unharmed and didn't say anything. Yataro then reached the inn and started knocking on the door, fearing for his life, but instead of his mother, two monster dogs went out and knocked him out, but Kabane and Inugami saved his life from them. He was then returned by the two back at the inn, although unconscious.

As a normal human, he doesn't posses any additional powers or abilities.

Relationships

Mrs. Kusaka

She is Yataro's mother. Although not is much seen about their relationship, his mother worries about him when he fell unconscious when he encountered a ghoul.

Kabane Kusaka

He is Yataro's cousin. He bullies and hates Kabane, often calling him "Dorotabo" and tells other people that he stinks. His deep hatred was also shown when he tried to kill Kabane when he was five.
