Yoruno (夜野, Yoruno, Yoruno^?) is a human who fell in love with a Nekomata, Mao.

Appearance

Yoruno is a young adult with short black hair and wears glasses. He has a mole above the right side of his mouth.

Personality

Falling in love with Mao, he was ready to give up his life as a human and become a cat as long as he can be with her. And even though he found out Mao is a cat, his love for her didn't change.

Plot

Introduction Arc

Yoruno catches a rat.

Yoruno ends in the Kemono Office bar. He starts blabbering to Kohachi Inugami that he loves a girl, but doesn't know her real name and Akira and Shiki joke with him, telling him that she hates him or its just nice to everyone. Kabane gets interested in the case as he wants to know more about love and Kohachi lets the kids deal with it. Yoruno then introduces himself and arranges a meeting tomorrow, but sees a mouse and immediately jumps and catches it, revealing that he has been collecting mouses as a present to the girl. Kohachi then realizes he is bewitched by a nekomata, a two-tailed cat, that transforms into beautiful men or women and seduces humans.

The next day, the group meets in front of a red-light district and Yoruno shows a picture of Mao, commenting that she works here and he figured the time she finishes, but he never saw her coming out, so he couldn't talk with her outside her work. Kabane guesses she may come out in different form and as they wait, they see a cat coming out and decides to follow it.

In a back alley, they confront the cat and guess its Mao. Understanding the situation, Mao turns into a human and tells Yoruno that he didn't need to hire detectives as he will soon turn into a cat like some other customers and bring her food. She guess her bewitching wasn't strong enough as he didn't turn into a cat yet, but Kabane reveals its due to love. Kon appears from above and captures Mao, while Yoruno uses the opportunity to reveal his feelings and how his life changed after meeting her. He agrees to become a cat as long he is with her.

The next day, Yoruno still human and Mao visit the Kemono Office, and Mao explain that she ended the other customers spell and they will turn into humans again and that she is now living with Yoruno. She figured that it will be just easier for her to let a human take care of her as she doesn't need to worry about her safety or food.

Yoruno harbors unrequited romantic feelings for Mao, even telling her that to transform into a cat wiling to server her forever as she is the first one who paid attention to him. Later on, Yoruno becomes Mao's owner, both of them living together.
