Yuuma (勇馬, Yūma^?) is a young boy from Tokyo who accidentally witnesses Kemono activity while trying to record a video for a YouTube channel.

Appearance

He has medium-length, slightly messy hair that sweeps over one side of his face, partially covering one of his eyes.

He wears a short-sleeved T-shirt over a long-sleeved shirt with multiple black horizontal stripes. he also wears casual shorts and sneakers.

Personality

Yuuma is a sociable and sometimes ambitious boy who longs for recognition and friendship. He believes that popularity, especially through social media, is the key to being accepted by others. To avoid being left out by his friends, he eagerly seeks to capture exciting content, often prioritizing this goal over potential consequences. However, despite his initial stubbornness, when confronted by Kabane, he begins to question his own values and the true meaning of friendship. Deep down, he desires genuine connections rather than superficial approval.

Plot

Intermission Arc

Kabane discovered that he was filmed by Yuuma

After Kabane completed one of his solo missions, he noticed a human boy filming the event. Realizing he had been spotted, the boy panicked and started running. However, remembering Inugami’s instructions not to let humans discover the existence of Kemono, Kabane quickly caught him, preventing his escape.

They went to a nearby park, where the boy, Yuuma, began talking excitedly about YouTube. He explained that he wanted to record a great video to post on his friend’s brother’s channel, hoping it would make him popular and help him make many friends. Kabane, knowing he couldn't allow humans to find out about the Kemono, grew concerned.

Yuuma then asked if Kabane knew more people like the ones he had seen, but Kabane denied it. However, since Kabane was terrible at lying, Yuuma immediately noticed his reaction and realized he was hiding something. Observing the situation, Nobimaru decided to step in. Seeing him, Kabane asked for his help, leading to an agreement between them.

Nobimaru threatens to kill Yuuma

Nobimaru suddenly made a terrifying expression and threatened to kill Yuuma. Kabane quickly stopped him, insisting there was no need for such drastic action. While they were talking, Yuuma, still determined, began recording another video. Before he could do much, Kabane took his phone and swallowed it. After doing so, Kabane apologized and promised to return the phone after deleting the video. Frustrated, Yuuma replied that he didn’t want it anymore, then pulled out his tablet from his backpack, smugly stating that Kabane wouldn’t be able to swallow something that big.

Kabane, unsure of how to handle the situation, simply sat on the ground, believing that if he remained still, Yuuma wouldn’t have anything exciting to film. However, a few minutes later, Akira arrived carrying ice cream, which had begun melting. Unaware of Yuuma’s presence, Akira used his powers to freeze the ice cream again. Shortly after, Kon appeared and also used her powers in front of Yuuma. As soon as she left, Shiki, Aya, and Kumi arrived. With so much happening around him, Yuuma became even more determined to share what he had witnessed.

Kabanes asks Yuuma not to share the video

Realizing this, Kabane sat down with Yuuma and explained why he couldn't post or talk about the Kemono to anyone. As Kabane spoke, Yuuma seemed to reconsider his decision, but he hesitated, expressing that if he didn’t upload the video, his friends would abandon him. Hearing this, Kabane questioned whether they were truly his friends, stating that real friends wouldn’t treat him that way.

After their conversation, Nobimaru, seeing that Yuuma had learned too much, used his illusion powers to alter Yuuma’s memory, making him believe that everything had been just a dream.

Later, Yuuma woke up with a headache as his classmates passed by the park. They asked if he had managed to record a good video, but Yuuma simply replied that he hadn’t. His friend, whose brother was a YouTuber, told him that he would be left out of the videos again. However, this time, Yuuma said he no longer cared and walked away. Seeing this, the other boys abandoned the arrogant kid who bragged about his YouTuber brother and ran after Yuuma instead, showing that while his memories had been altered, Kabane’s words had truly left an impact on him.
